A bit of history: In place of the current village, according to Thucydides, was an ancient city founded by immigrants from the Peloponnese home from the Trojan war and staying there to winter. Captive trojanki, which the soldiers took with him, burned vehicles, forcing men to marry yourself and stay forever in these places. The city belonged to the Athenian naval Alliance, however, during the Peloponnesian war joined the Spartans, for which the Athenians had destroyed the entire adult male population of the city.
The main attraction and the sanctuary of the village is the Church of XVI century Panagia Faneromeni. The Church is notable for its miraculous icon of the mother of God.
