A MAGNIFICENT MANSION (FUNCTIONING AS A BOUTIQUE HOTEL) SITUATED AT THE CAPITAL OF CYCLADIC ISLANDS ERMOUPOLIS / IN GREECE
A magnificent mansion constructed at 1840 (and the last 20 years functioning as a hotel) is now for sale due to the economic crisis facing Greece and the property owners.
MAIN FEATURES OF THE PROPERTY
In the following we will describe some features and characteristics of our property on sale:
The traditional mansion as building has 3 levels (a basement and 2 stores) and a 4rth level the magnificent terrace overlooking the central town of Ermoupolis, the port, and the islands Myconos, Tinos, Naxos and Delos.
The total surface of each level counts 220 m2 and therefore the whole building (including the terrace) counts 880 m2.
The basement today is used as a ground floor of the hotel and there are all the social rooms, (as reception, breakfast room, 2 sitting rooms, kitchen, WC, lavatory-washing room).
The first and second stores have 5 and 6 respectively rooms and 2 suites (each store one). Total number of rooms 15. Naturally it is possible to enlarge the rooms unifying 2 or 3 to one ect, ect
All the rooms are spacious with very high roofs (4,5 m) and each one has its WC with shower. Most of the floors maintain their old red cypress wood character while the windows are very large and illuminous.
The 4rth level, the terrace, dispose a fully thermal-echo-hydro Isolation and besides the magnificent view, it is possible to organize there large receptions with a maximum of about 2-300 persons.
In the front and rear of the building there are also respectively 2 yards (each with legal building permission) with a surface each of about 50 sq.m. The grand total surface of the property then is about 1.000 square meters.
The building has been initially constructed at about 1845 by a physician and later became the mansion of the famous Greek sculptor Vitalis. At 1985 it has been purchased by the Greek/German couple , who (after 3 years of works) they completely renovated (without changing its initial architectural style) and transformed into the traditional lodging Hotel.
The Greek ministry of Culture, by an administrative act, protects (mainly the external look) the building as a traditional mansion of a special beauty.
Since its inauguration at 1989 as Hotel until today, the establishment hospitalized many important guests. Many Greek ship-owners, foreign naval engineers, European artists, architects, foreign diplomats in Athens, and of course Greek politicians as well as the Greek President of the republic.
It is estimated that, if somebody wanted to raise today a similar mansion, The price which represents only a small part of the actual value include also the legal form of the enterprise, the equipment, the installations, and the business reputation which is of the highest for Greek traditional lodgements.
