The Chateau de Paradis lies near the town of Amboise Touraine, in the captivating Loire Valley. The 16th century castle was expanded in 1767 by its then-owner, the Duke of Choiseul who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs under the reign of Louis XV (1710-1774). In 1947, the property was labelled a historical monument (“Classé Monument Historique”) by the French ministry of culture.
Today the castle serves as a charming boutique hotel. It recently underwent complete renovation which restored the castle to its former splendour. The interiors, which are the work of world famous designers, retain much of their historic character, with handsome boiserie and decorative fireplaces, while boasting such amenities as a screening room. The castle of 700 m2 comprises several salons, music room, library, cinema room and 7 bedrooms, including 2 suites, among other rooms.
Chateau de Paradis lies on a 15-hectare estate surrounded by a stone wall. It includes 2 hectares of gardens, 6 hectares of forest and 7 hectares of meadows. The gardens are planted with a wide variety of trees, including a 300-year-old oak. There is also a vegetable garden and a 2.5-hectare horse corral. Other facilities on the estate include a guard house, a stable and a 2-storey-longere, which can be turned into a 300 m2 house.
Chateau de Paradis lies in the golden triangle of Touraine, home to France’s most prestigious castles and major tourist attractions such as nearby Chateau of Chenonceau with its 1 million annual visitors. It is 27 km away from Tours and 1 hour away from Paris via TGV at the nearby fast train station. Amboise historical district and convenience stores are 5 minutes away.
